It’s not just for kids anymore. With the iPad, you can teach yourself about science and technology, explore the world of plants and animals, or learn how to play an instrument.

The 18 great science apps for iPad is a list of 18 different science apps that are available on the App Store. The article also includes a short description and reviews of each app.

Here’s a list of some of my favorite scientific applications for kids and instructors. Enjoy

Molecules are the building blocks of life.

“Molecules is a program that allows you to manipulate three-dimensional representations of molecules with your fingertips. You may rotate the molecules by sliding your finger across the screen, zoom in or out using two-finger pinch motions, or pan the molecule by sliding two fingers over the screen at the same time.”

2- Brain in three dimensions

“Rotate and zoom around 29 interactive buildings using your touch screen. Learn about how each brain area works, what happens when it’s damaged, and how mental illness affects it. Each comprehensive structure includes information on functions, diseases, brain injury, case studies, and research connections.”

3- Cell in three dimensions

5- GeneIndex HD (High Definition)

6- The Atlas of the Moon

“Moon Atlas is an astronomy software that allows you to control a 3D globe of the Moon using pinch and finger movements. This is not a static map picture, but rather a rendered sphere.
