World Heritage Day is a day to celebrate the cultural and natural heritage of humanity. It is a time for us to reflect on how we can protect our shared cultural heritage.
The World Heritage Day for Students is a speech that was given on the 18th of June by the President of UNESCO, Irina Bokova. The speech is intended to be read by students and teachers in schools around the world.
Good morning, respected sir, madam, instructor, and all my beloved friends. Today I am here to say a few words about the subject that has been assigned to me, which is World Heritage Day.
Our nation is rich in culture, history, and human worth, therefore one day has been designated as World Heritage Day to highlight the significance of all of these cultures.
The significance of respecting the nation’s pride cannot be overstated. Now, the younger generation is oblivious to India’s culture and preoccupied with their own.
As a result, this day symbolizes the coming together of individuals, which aids in understanding the significance of this day.
It raised public awareness on the need of instilling values in individuals. If the people agree to commemorate this day, it will be beneficial to all citizens of our nation.
World Heritage Day’s Importance
There are 35 world heritage sites in India, including 27 cultural, seven natural, and one combined site.
Today, it is critical that we preserve the place because of its significance.
They are in danger since the area is a popular tourist destination, and as a result, more people come, causing problems for the area.
The ICOMOS officials have proposed some suggestions for how to commemorate this day across the world:
- Encourage people to visit monuments and enable repair work to be done for free.
- Some individuals are still unaware of the site, therefore they are writing articles, publications, and broadcasting on the radio and television to make others aware of it.
- Hang the banners in places where people go more often to preserve the cultural legacy.
- Programs should be linked in a public location where others may join them.
- Choose a location and then arrange the show using paintings and photographs.
This day should be commemorated in a big way since it will help people understand the importance of our country’s historic sites.
There are numerous historical landmarks throughout the globe, such as the Taj Mahal, China’s Great Wall, Agra Fort, and many more. These are some of the ways we contribute to the site’s upkeep, either directly or indirectly.
Some visitors come to gaze at the sight, but they leave trash strewn around, making the place unattractive.
Some of the sites that people want to visit again and again are in risk of deteriorating, which will have an impact on the country’s economy and history.
As a result, I implore everyone of you sitting here to educate your children to preserve their history as much as possible and to make the nation proud.
Also, if you come, please do not trash in this lovely location. And to spread a good impact in society.
I’d want to express my gratitude to you.
